Luna Salon Gig Harbor was created to be the premier destination for top of the line hair extensions and modern, custom color in the Pacific Northwest. As the owner and founder, I am always involved in continuing education to ensure we are offering the highest quality of cuts, color, and extensions. We also choose to work only with select companies to source the highest quality products available on the market.
When I created Luna Salon Gig Harbor, I wanted to create a place where everyone felt comfortable to be their authentic self. Where every individual is able to feel heard and understood. Many of our clients are struggling with hair loss in various forms such as genetic hair loss, alopecia, post partum hair loss, or other medical conditions that cause thinning hair. I wanted to make sure anyone dealing with these hair concerns has a place to come where they can trust the expertise of their artist, and feel completely comfortable talking about these issues knowing they are not alone and that there is a solution!
Along with solving major hair concerns, we also love providing incredible hair transformations for those looking for a subtle refresh or a drastic change.
Luna represents the powerful feminine energy in all of us!
My name is Rachel, I am a pacific northwest native from the age of 4. I am in love with Washington and all of its beauty! I am an avid hiker, and love to explore and travel with the people I love. Experiences and relationships are the most valuable things to me.
I am all about living my life with passion. That is why I left my corporate career at its highest point in pursuit of something I could do from the heart. I am a true Taurus at my core, a lover of beauty in all it’s forms. I knew if I was going to do something that called to my heart it would have to be creating beauty in some way. I was so lucky to find my place in the hair industry.
Through so many amazing women and men, I was able to find so much passion and opportunity here. I absolutely love relating to people, I love creating beautiful things, and I LOVE extreme detail work, so I could not be better suited to another career! Being an extension artist allows me to make a difference in the lives of others while also fulfilling my desire to create and connect.
If you know me at all you have probably heard me say, " I love my job!" at least a few times. Doing hair is not just an occupation for me but rather a passion and a purpose that I nurture daily. I attended the Salon Professional Academy in 2008 and after earning my Washington State Cosmetology license was hired as an associate at Brassfields Salon and Spa where I completed 9 more months of advanced training. I spent a wonderful 7 years at Brassfields and in July of 2015 made the transition to entrepreneurship which has since allowed me to provide my clients with a more personal experience.
I have a passion for sharing and teaching what I know with anyone that's willing to learn. Over the years I have completed training at both the Redken Exchange and L'Oreal SOHO Academy in New York City. Throughout my journey I have prioritized staying current with extension methods and products. Taking the last two years to shift my focus to providing the highest level of customized extension application has truly changed my life. There’s nothing better than making hair dreams come true!
When I’m not in the salon you can find me on the golf course, researching useless topics, cheering on my favorite sports teams, cooking, planning my next adventure, or enjoying live music.
Hi I’m Hillary! I am Canadian-born, Wyoming-bred, and have been loving life in Washington for the last seven years. I have a master’s degree in Art History with a focus on Surrealism and fashion photography through the lens of feminism. I have been a stay-at-home parent, worked for museum curators, taught college courses on women in art, and finally accomplished my life-long dream of becoming a hairstylist. This career is incredibly fulfilling and better than I ever imagined. I have such a love for my clients and feel so honored to do their hair. I have a passion for haircutting and color and love collaborating and customizing each service for each individual client. I also have a passion for learning and am so excited to continue my education in blonding, extensions and everything hair!
When I’m not at work I am usually watching hair videos, baking sweet treats, exercising, playing trivia with friends, reading in the sun, playing at the park with my kids, or riding motorcycles.
My name is Danielle, but everyone calls me Dee. I have lived in Gig Harbor my whole life. Besides the 5 years when I lived in Boise, ID where I went to Boise State and cosmetology school. I have been in the industry over 10 years most of that time at Brassfields Salon and Spa where I was able to fully immerse myself into the salon world and become the stylist I am today. Learning advanced color and lightning techniques and niche services. I love to learn and make sure I am giving the best experience to the people in my chair. I make sure I am open and understanding to everyone who sits in my chair and give them the best experience possible. I love my career so much!
When I am not in the salon I am with my family. I have twin boys Baron and Bauer they are amazing. We spend our time outside and playing most days. I love watching football, doing pilates, and working out.
I'm a passionate stylist who loves making people feel special and beautiful. Ever since graduating from Gene Juarez Academy in 2017, I've been committed to refining my skills and expanding my knowledge of beauty brands, tools, and techniques. Lived-in color has become my true passion, and I'm always pushing myself to grow in this area.
For me, being a stylist is so much more than creating beautiful hair, I truly love building relationships with my clients and making sure they feel valued and heard. I take great pride in educating my clients and empowering them to feel confident in their at-home styling routines. When I'm not at the salon, you can find me enjoying quality time with my husband, family, and friends, or cheering on the Mariners at their games!
Hi! I’m Malena. I’ve been with Luna Salon since January 2025, where I help manage our social media and handle various administrative tasks, including running the front desk. Before joining Luna, I spent about two years as an assistant manager at another salon. I absolutely love being part of the Luna team and working alongside such an incredible group of women.
Outside of my work at Luna, I own a wedding photography business, where I get to capture beautiful love stories behind the lens. I’ve only lived in Washington since October 2024, and I’m excited to explore and discover so many new places. My husband and I just celebrated our second wedding anniversary, and we’re looking forward to many more wonderful years ahead! A few of my favorite things include, coffee, Gossip Girl, fashion, and moscow mules.
I cant wait to continue to learn and grow at Luna Salon for the years to come.
